Can you hear the difference between the sounds /i:/ and /i/? Listen and see.
Hello my name is Sacha and I am talking to your from Malvern House in Brighton. Welcome to your one minute lesson. Today we are going to be looking at two sounds that learners often get confused, they are /i:/ and /i/ so what is the difference? Well they are both vowel sounds but /i:/ is a long sound, /i/ is a short sound, /i:/ /i/. Look at the shape of my mouth for the different sounds, /i:/, /i/, /i:/, /i/.
